Materials

We use a mix of different materials and workmanship for each design. Some designs are reworked and improved over time to ensure comfort in wearing, and longevity.

Gold-filled

Following an American regulated industry standard, gold-filled pieces requires 1/20th, or 5% pure gold by weight. It undergoes a strict process of pressure bonding multiple layers of solid 14k gold with extreme heat over a core of high quality jeweller’s brass resulting in a quality, real gold product. The thick outer layer of gold makes it highly durable and safe for people with allergies or sensitive skin. Gold-filled is the best option after solid gold as it is made to last for years. However with every kind of gold jewellery, actual longevity depends on how it is cared for, amongst other factors. Gold-filled jewellery may also be washed with water to be kept clean. Harsh chemicals and abrasive products should be avoided.

Gold plated

Every design employs different craftsmanship. More complicated moulded designs needs to be casted, or made using different base material, such as stainless titanium steel or 925 silver. With these, we try to achieve the thickest possible plating with real 18k or 24k gold, and add an additional protection layer to retain it's quality. This means that our gold plated jewellery are made to a high standard that would last.

925 Silver

Our silver jewellery are made with 925 sterling silver, which means that they are also highly durable and generally safe for people with allergies or sensitive skin.

Baroque pearls

Our natural baroque pearls are grade AAA, each carefully inspected to meet a certain standard of lustre and shape. Our pearls are never bought in bulk. Which is why most of our pearls have no holes through the bottom (unless the design calls for it), which is a sign that they are not bought from a wholesale string. Being selective makes procuring limited to a small quantity, depending on availability. The beauty of baroque pearl is that it cannot be copied, which means no two pearls are ever the same. Each pearl comes with it's marks and growth lines, which is the natural beauty of it. In the modern age, many people are now seeking baroque pearls which are irregular and usually found with little bumps and growth marks. Each baroque pearl has rich textures and full of fluidity that visually brightens up the face more than ordinary peals. Living in an era where many go after a set standard of beauty, the baroque pearl represents those who sets themselves apart and treasures individuality - which is what Wesbury stands for.
